My Favorite Dairy Free Products That Actually Taste Good!

Today’s post is all about my favorite dairy free products. I’ve been officially dairy free for about six months and I have tried out a ton of different products! I never realized how many different items contain milk until I read the nutrition labels.    When I first started buying dairy free products I quickly realized that not all products actually taste good. In fact some of the products that I’ve tried taste absolutely nasty and are NOT worth the money.  Another factor to remember when looking for dairy free alternatives is that most of the time products are going to be pretty expensive so you want to make sure what you are buying is worth the price.   There are many great options that I’m willing to spend a little more for, but I tried to keep this post limited to the affordable items that still taste amazing! Here are my top five favorite dairy free products that I highly recommend.         Earth Balance “butter” First up is my all...

the truth about fitness

I have a huge passion for health and fitness. Throughout the years I have spent working out and going to the gym, I have also realized that fitness can be extremely misleading. I'm serious. I used to look at "fit" and shredded people and equate them as the ultimate picture of health. Truth: A girl can have 8 percent body fat and NOT be healthy.  A girl can have a shredded six pack and NOT be healthy. A girl could go to the gym twice a day for hours at a time, 365 days a year and STILL not be healthy.  A lot goes on behind the scenes that we don't know about and sometimes it can be causing more damage than good. So you can see why I say that fitness is completely misleading and overrated. Let's stop striving to look like that Instagram model and instead turn our focus on being HAPPY + HEALTHY.  If you want to truly love the skin that you are in, you CANNOT sacrifice your physical and mental health. Your fitness journey will be SO much easier and eve...

how to stay healthy on vacation

Recently, I just  returned from a week vacation in Florida with my fiance and my family. It was such a relaxing time, and it felt awesome to have a break from work and everyday life. I typically don't worry too much about sticking to my workout routine on vacations because I think it's healthy to rest every once in a while to prevent burnout.  But l et’s be honest, vacations are where healthy habits go out the window. Late nights, eating out every day, missing your daily workout, midnight snacks…….. we can be quick to excuse our overindulgence because we are “enjoying ourselves” and “living in the moment." That is, until we return from our vacation feeling sick and in need of another vacation to recover from our last vacation. This can be especially unmotivating if you’re like me and are the type that loves daily routine, workouts and eating healthy. This doesn't always have to be the case though. Over the years I have discovered simple things t...

Quick and Healthy Brownies

Welcome to another blog post! I thought I would write about something different, specifically a new recipe that I tried recently. These healthy brownies were way too delicious not to share! They taste exactly like normal brownies, but they have secret ingredients like avocado and pumpkin that make them much more nutritious and a healthier option for you. Plus, the coconut flour used makes these brownies have a lot less carbs (perfect for those eating keto or diabetics like me) Ingredients -1 cup pumpkin puree -2 small avocados -4 eggs -2/3 cup mini chocolate chips -1/2 cup honey 1/2 tsp salt -3 tsp. baking soda -6 tbsp. coconut flour -4 tbsp. liquid cooking oil -2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 by 13 in. with liners or oil. Combine all of the ing...
