December Favorites

I am so excited about this post because it is all about my current favorite things: fashion, beauty, books, ect.  Basically I am going to be sharing anything that actually made my life 100 times better in the past month. I personally love watching Youtube videos and reading blog posts about other people's favorites of the month, so I am excited to share my own.

Fashion

If you know me well, you know that I absolutely hate wearing coats. I just find them too bulky and most of the coats that I've tried are too short on me so whatever outfit I'm wearing peeks out from underneath and just does not look flattering. I tried on this coat when I was Christmas shopping with my mom and fell in love! It is the perfect thickness and is long enough to cover your whole body. I personally think it is super cute and neutral so it looks good with anything that you wear.

Skin Care

I have tried so many cleansers and face washes throughout my life. The reason I love this one (besides the affordable price) is how clean my skin feels afterwards. Most face washes leave a layer of film on your face even after washing it off, and this one doesn't!

This is one of my favorite face masks of all time. This mask doesn't clear up your acne completely but it definitely minimizes my pores and makes my skin feel clean and smooth. I also find that it helps control my oil. I use this about twice a week combined with my normal skin care regiment and I see a noticeable difference in how clear my skin is.

I tried out this lip mask because I have heard so many good things about it and it did not disappoint! This product reminds me of a mix between lip gloss and chapstick. Even better, it smells like strawberries! Usually, my go to is burts bees chapstick in vanilla, but after using this lip mask nothing else compares and is as moisturizing and lasts all day.

Books

I absolutely love to read, but I don't have as much time as I used to when I was younger, so when it comes to picking a book I pick ones that have high ratings. I have heard so many good things about this, so I finally caved in and bought it. I was not disappointed! The author writes with a witty style and honesty, that is super refreshing. This book makes you think about your goals and how you react to things life throws at you. I highly recommend if you are into "self help" or advice books. I also appreciated how the author kept faith a significant point of discussion in every chapter.

Makeup

I don't typically branch out when it comes to my makeup routine. I like what I like and stick with it, but I tried both of these products out over the past month and I love them!

For the longest time I stayed away from any primers that didn't have the word "matte" in their name because I have oily skin and I was afraid that using a moisturizing primer would just make my skin look worse. I am so glad the Sephora lady convinced me to try this out because it has changed my skin and makeup routine for the better. This primer honestly feels like silk on your skin and makes my liquid foundation blend so smoothly. I will even use this primer by itself as a moisturizer just because it makes your skin look so healthy and glow. The best part is that it smells like coconuts!

This bronzer is my all time favorite! I use the shade milk chocolate because I have fair skin with pink undertones. In the summer I use Hula Bronzer, but in the winter I find that Hula is too dark for my skin and can make me look orange. The Too-Faced Bronzer is perfect. I find that it takes a while to build up so you can apply it lightly, which I prefer. I also love that this bronzer smells like a mix between vanilla and chocolate.

Drinks

Finally, my last favorite of course has to do with coffee. I drink coffee 6 days out of the week, and I buy Starbucks about 2 to 3 times  a week. My go to is usually an almond milk latte with a few pumps of a flavor, because I try to keep my coffees low calorie. I usually order hazelnut or a peppermint mocha but I recently tried the gingerbread latte and I am obsessed! It has more of a spicy flavor than sweet which mixes well with the vanilla almond milk that Starbucks uses. Definitely give this flavor a try if you haven't yet!

About Me

Hi, I'm Abbi and welcome to my blog! I’m from Fort Wayne, Indiana and am 21 years old.   I am currently a senior in college and am working towards being a wellness coach and personal trainer, and am majoring in recreation administration. The most important things in my life are my family, friends, wonderful boyfriend, and my faith.  Another thing I should mention is that I have been a Type One Diabetic since I was 14.   The disease is a part of my everyday life, and although it has brought many challenges, I have learned about myself and grown so much because of it. People tend to assume that I can't have sugar or sweets because of my disease, but that isn't the case at all.  Over the years, I  have learned to find a balance between staying healthy and still enjoying my life. I guess that's the sweet spot, and how I came up with the name of my blog.  Writing h

at home ab workout 💗

Hi guys! Welcome back to another fitness blog post. Today I'm going to share one of my favorite ab workouts. I usually do this twice a week and I've really noticed results! You don't need any equipment, just your own body weight and it takes only 8-10 minutes. Just because you don't have access to a gym doesn't give you an excuse to not love and move your body! *Do 25 repetitions of each exercise* Sit and Taps Russian Twists *I used a dumbbell for this exercise but you definitely don't need one! Sit and Twist Mountain Climbers Circle Crunches *Be sure to squeeze your core throughout the entire movement. Kick out to Reverse Crunch Flutter Kicks Toe Taps Side Crunches Bicycles Plank And that's it! Happy Sweating 💓🤪

how to stay healthy on vacation

Recently, I just  returned from a week vacation in Florida with my fiance and my family. It was such a relaxing time, and it felt awesome to have a break from work and everyday life. I typically don't worry too much about sticking to my workout routine on vacations because I think it's healthy to rest every once in a while to prevent burnout.  But l et’s be honest, vacations are where healthy habits go out the window. Late nights, eating out every day, missing your daily workout, midnight snacks…….. we can be quick to excuse our overindulgence because we are “enjoying ourselves” and “living in the moment." That is, until we return from our vacation feeling sick and in need of another vacation to recover from our last vacation. This can be especially unmotivating if you’re like me and are the type that loves daily routine, workouts and eating healthy. This doesn't always have to be the case though. Over the years I have discovered simple things to do wh
