Be Present

It feels like in today's world we are constantly planning ahead. Even though this can be a good thing, constantly thinking ahead can occupy our minds and prevent us from simply being in the present moment.

Living in the present moment is simply the concept of clearing your mind of thoughts of the past or the future. Often as busy humans we try to multitask. I know I'm not the only one who goes to coffee with a friend, only to be checking my phone or texting someone else, when I really should be giving the person in front of me my full undivided attention.

The takeaway from this is that in the midst of multitasking, we miss emotional connections. And connecting with other people is much more important then finishing everything on our to do list.

The more present you are, the less stressed and worried you become. It can be so draining when we are too consumed in our own thoughts. When you focus on the present moment, you are allowing yourself to gain a new perspective, a perspective that consists of positivity, appreciation, and admiration.

"If you abandon the present moment you cannot live the moments of your daily life deeply.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh.

December Favorites

I am so excited about this post because it is all about my current favorite things: fashion, beauty, books, ect.  Basically I am going to be sharing anything that actually made my life 100 times better in the past month. I personally love watching Youtube videos and reading blog posts about other people's favorites of the month, so I am excited to share my own. Fashion Patagonia Coat If you know me well, you know that I absolutely hate wearing coats. I just find them too bulky and most of the coats that I've tried are too short on me so whatever outfit I'm wearing peeks out from underneath and just does not look flattering. I tried on this coat when I was Christmas shopping with my mom and fell in love! It is the perfect thickness and is long enough to cover your whole body. I personally think it is super cute and neutral so it looks good with anything that you wear. Skin Care Green face wash I have tried so many c...

Fall Favorites 2019

Fall is here in full swing and I'm so happy. It's my favorite season! There is just something that I love about the cool crisp air, transitioning to warm drinks, and of course the wardrobe changes. Just wanted to quickly share some items I've been loving and have had my eye on for this fall! Beauty  Mario Badescu Lip Balm: My first favorite is one that I recommend over everything. I am so obsessed with this lip balm. It's perfect for during the day and if you're on the go. You don't have to reapply that often and it is so affordable for a high end lip balm. Only $7 from Ulta! Olehenriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask This mask is hands down the best face mask I have ever used. It is on the pricier side, but it is so worth the money because of how clean your skin feels afterwards. It removes all the gunk from your pores and leaves you feeling so refreshed. Another perk is that the mask is bright blue! Anthropologie Vanilla Perfume:  T...

About Me

Hi, I'm Abbi and welcome to my blog! I’m from Fort Wayne, Indiana and am 21 years old.   I am currently a senior in college and am working towards being a wellness coach and personal trainer, and am majoring in recreation administration. The most important things in my life are my family, friends, wonderful boyfriend, and my faith.  Another thing I should mention is that I have been a Type One Diabetic since I was 14.   The disease is a part of my everyday life, and although it has brought many challenges, I have learned about myself and grown so much because of it. People tend to assume that I can't have sugar or sweets because of my disease, but that isn't the case at all.  Over the years, I  have learned to find a balance between staying healthy and still enjoying my life. I guess that's the sweet spot, and how I came up with the name of my blog.  ...
