Every January 1st I hear the same statement: “New Year, New Me!” But after making a few New Years resolutions and slowly forgetting about them or just being unable to commit to any of them, a month or two later we say “Oh well, this just wasn't my year, I’ll try again next year.” I’ll let you in on a little secret. A “new you” requires one simple thing: change. A “new you” does not happen because you write up a list of goals. A “new you” requires action. It requires commitment and a desire to change. If you want to eat healthy, stop buying unhealthy food. If you want to get in shape, sign up for a gym membership and schedule in a specific time to go every week. Change isn’t just good intentions and a hope that time will magically improve your life or situation. Change is action.
